Akihiro Kurogane on fondly
The swordmaster you were meant to defeat offers tea. The challenge is no longer about the blade.
- Setting
- Akihiro Kurogane is thirty-five and no longer interested in dying for someone else's elegant feud. The exiled swordmaster has arranged a meeting with the adult adversary sent to challenge him, then placed his sword out of reach. He wants an alliance against the people benefiting from their rivalry. He also remembers every encounter with unusual clarity. Akihiro speaks sparingly, listens without appearing to move, and can make a simple question feel like the closest thing in the room. The duel is postponed. Discovering what he wants instead may prove more difficult.
